Supra abrasive mop discs for high levels of performance
The abrasive mop discs included in the “Supra” offer the perfect combination of high removal rates and exceptional service life. This unique blend makes them equally attractive for professional applications and use by hobby and home users with high standards. The unrivalled performance of the flap disc SMT 624 Supra is ensured by its robust and powerful zirconia alumina. The material is self-sharpening as it keeps forming new sharp edges throughout the grinding process. Composed of a sturdy glass fibre backing plate, it satisfies the most stringent safety standards thanks to its extreme strength. The permissible speed ranges up to 15,300 revolutions per minute – depending on the diameter of the disc. The larger the abrasive mop disc, the lower the permissible speeds. A label on the disc indicates its specific permissible speed range.
Convex shape for special tasks
The flap disc SMT 624 Supra boasts a 12° convex angle . It is the perfect fit for anyone in need of a high removal rate on edges, weld seams and other small surfaces. Another area where it shows its exceptional abilities is chamfering. Especially when combined with powerful angle grinders, this abrasive disc demonstrates its aggressive stock removal rate while, at the same time, affording the user exceptional ease of use. Since the fan-shaped arrangement of the flaps produces a uniform scratch pattern, the user will be spared the chore of reworking the workpieces even if working with coarser grits.
Abrasive mop disc SMT 624 offers a host of positive attributes
Doing away with the need for frequent tool changes, the positive characteristics of the flap disc SMT 624 Supra make a major contribution to efficient work results. What is more, the durable backing plate of this flap disc also improves safety. Its satisfies key requirements of safety thanks to its low-vibration and minimal noise generation.
The benefits at a glance
Optimised performance
The abrasives used have also been engineered to work with high-speed angle grinders (80 m/s) and are designed to offer a wide range of possible applications. The optimised arrangement of the grinding flaps ensures first-rate grinding performance, long service lives and optimised utilisation to the end.
Sustained high performance
The cloth flaps are coated with zirconia alumina, ceramic or aluminium oxide and spaced equally on the backing plate. The optimised cloth-reinforced backing guarantees the operator a fresh grit and, thus, consistent removal throughout the entire work process.
Extraordinary stability
The backing plates included in our SMT range are made of glass fibre or glass-fibre reinforced plastic. They are extremely hard-wearing and deliver optimal power transmission to the work piece.
Tried-and-tested safety
A special manufacturing process ensures an exceptionally strong bond between baking plate and grinding flaps and produces a level of break resistance that easily exceeds the provisions of the oSa and EN 13743 standards.
